A Whirlwind of a Week

Both kids have been sick on and off for over 3 weeks; one virus on top of another. Well little Miss Makayla’s two year old little body couldn’t take much more vomiting and was admitted into the hospital on Sunday morning. Both kids had been to the doctor the last Thursday and were put on medicine for an upper respiratory infection. I was told the vomiting was from that but I knew better. She was up all night Saturday vomiting and we called the doctors office first thing Saturday but they told us to just keep her hydrated and let the bug run its course. Well, our little darling couldn’t even keep fluids down so by the time Tim took her to Children’s Hospital on Sunday morning she was really dehydrated. I was a complete mess but somehow managed to ‘appear’ kept together. It had already been such a busy week preparing for my sisters wedding, which was Sunday by the way (Congrats April & Scott! We love you!). Makayla was suppose to be April and Scott’s sweet little flower girl but of course she wasn’t able to. She would have made a beautiful one too, but she is my beautiful flower girl everyday. They ran so much saline into her; we actually went through 20 diapers from Sunday morning till Tuesday afternoon. So we are finally home and I’m so happy. She is not completely better yet but she is feeling a ton better and not vomiting anymore. The last week has been a difficult one, trying to take care of sick kids, work a high-demanding job, and attend wedding events. I am so thankful that God was with us through it all. He is my mighty sustainer.

...Here are some pics from MG's stay at the hospital.

Fall Fun

I love the cool crispness of the Autumn air. The breeze that whispers through strands of hair, and makes toes yearn for cozy socks. The tree leaves are beginning to turn pretty shades of red, brown, and orange; and the night sky glistens brightly with stars. In fact, we often go outside once the sky darkens just to look at those stars. Makayla shows great enthusiasm for the stars in the night sky as we tell her how God made each one. Fall is always filled with lots of fun memories.

Makayla’s favorite song is ‘Jesus Love Me’ and she frequently burst out singing it whenever her little heart desires. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that my little girl is already learning about Jesus. She speaks much clearer now and with much more intent. When we ask her what her name is she responds with “Gracie!” She is so cute! And of course our little MG still loves books.

Jackson is my little snuggle bug and is quite attached to mommy. He is growing up so fast! In fact, he is already trying to walk while holding onto the coffee table and couch. He has started eating finger foods too! He is mesmerized by his big sister singing songs. I bet before long he will be singing ‘Jesus Love Me’ right along with MG.

This weekend we were able to visit the pumpkin patch. Makayla had fun picking out her little pumpkin. Okay, I had fun too! Here are some of our most recent pictures. I can’t wait to post more pictures soon. My sister, April, is getting married this next weekend so we will have lots of pictures of family from out of town.
